A client in the Education industry is looking to hire a Facility Manager to oversee all building-related maintenance and repair activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring that facilities are safe and well-functioning in the school.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized and should be well-versed in the maintenance process, especially across electrical, plumbing, and general fixes across the school’s premises.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

● Plan and coordinate all installations, maintenance works, and repairs in the school. For example, but not limited to; generator work, fixing of lights, installation of bunk beds, purchasing of fuel and diesel, renovation works, etc.

● Ensure all key school equipment are properly operating and functioning effectively.

● Source for, liaise and supervise vendors required to carry out maintenance or repair works at the school.

● Prepare requisitions for Diesel and Petrol and be responsible for the procurement of Diesel and Petrol for the generators.

● Check electrical systems of buildings to ensure functioning to standard.

● Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.

● Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs

● Report directly to the Principal and Vice Principal.

 

JOB QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

●  A bachelor’s degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage

● Minimum 3 years work experience

● Proven experience as a Facility manager or another managerial role

● Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.

● Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment

• Maintain the fixed asset register and inventory records in line with related policies and procedures.
• Provide auditors and other reviewers with relevant input/ information and any other required assistance to ensure that the reviews run smoothly.
• Implement audit recommendations and provide regular progress updates to the Finance Manager.
• Review monthly statutory deduction schedule (PAYE, withholding tax and Pension deductions) to ensure accuracy and timely remittances to the relevant authority.
• Supervise and provide mentoring to direct reports.
• Be a key point of contact for other internal units and for external contacts e.g. banks, tax consultants etc., on financial and accounting matters
• Any other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager that can reasonably be expected of a senior finance officer, but not necessarily specified above.

SALARY: N150,000 to N250,000
