MIT-Empowering the teachers(MIT-ETT) is a teaching-focused fellowship, offered by MISTI at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) together with its corporate partner NNPC/TOTAL.

MIT-ETT enables Nigerian faculty in science and engineering to experience a semester at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT). Selected fellows will observe instruction in their  disciplines and work as a group under the guidance of MIT faculty member to prepare innovative curricula and approaches to teaching that can be introduced into their home universities on their return.

DESCRIPTION:
MIT-ETT will select a number of outstanding young faculty fellows from the disciplines of electrical engineering, computer engineering , mechanical  engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering from Nigerian universities to spend a semester at MIT either in the fall 2019(September-December 2019) or in the spring 2020 (February- May 2020).

During their semester at MIT, the selected faculty will observe at least two classes similar to ones they themselves currently teach (including lectures, recitations and tutorials). They will work on new curricular materials and teaching approaches for adoption in their own classes, they will attend two weekly MIT-ETT seminars, one which will focus on curriculum design and the other will introduce the faculty to MIT cultural aspects such as: online teaching, problem solving, entrepreneurship, public speaking, networking and more.

MIT-ETT will cover basic travel, living and instructional materials expenses of the participants. The home universities of the successful applicants will commit to provide paid leaves of absence during the period of the MIT-ETT program.

ELIGIBILITY:
MIT-ETT welcomes applications from all qualified faculty who are:
1) Interested in developing new curriculum and teaching methods and consider themselves to be change-agents;
2) A faculty member holding a PhD and teach in a department corresponding to Computer Science , Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering at a university in Nigeria;
3) Lecturer One rank

An accessories/jewelry company based on Lagos’ island, Nigeria, currently seeks a store manager for its new store.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Store manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations of a jewelry store. She should be a passionate and self-driven individual, who can generate/increase sales by engaging with customers to receive inquiries, obtain feedback as well as resolve complaints.

KEY OBJECTIVES:
Maintain and supervise the store operations, ambience and brand experience such as to attract and retain customers as well as generate daily sales. Continuously obtain feedback from customers, record and forward to management. Lead the sales planning and promotions for the store.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Coordinate the daily activities and operations of the store
  • Ensure that every customer enjoys a positive brand experience
  • Promote services and products offered by the company.
  • Maintain store outlook, cleanliness, and ambience
  • Respond to inquiries or forwarding them to the appropriate management personnel
  • Promote and advertise the store and brand
  • Oversee the store inventory, payments & other financial records
  • Ensure that source documents are filed and maintained appropriately
  • Supervise sales and other store personnel and ensure that they comply with company policies, procedures and security checks
  • Educate customers about warranties and guarantees of sold pieces and ensure that all documentation is included with the bagged product
  • Ensure that all displays are properly locked and secured
  • Ascertain that all pieces of jewelry are locked up in assigned storage places at the end of the day
  • Organize customer satisfaction and retention campaigns, such as sending out thank you notes to customers and keeping them in the loop regarding new arrivals, maintaining proper customer database and feedback records.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Minimum of HND, B.Sc or equivalent degree
  • 4years work experience as a sales/ store assistant, customer service or sales representative 
  • Must possess basic accounting/ book keeping knowledge
  • Must possess basic IT/ Computer skills
  • Exceptional listening and communication skills
  • Ability to handle customers pressure e.g. two or more customers at a time
  • Must be friendly, warm and charismatic
  • Be detailed and security conscious
  • Must be honest and trustworthy
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Must be stylish and fashionable

PREFERENCE:
  • Females are encouraged to apply
  • Between 27- 35years of age
  • Preferably- candidate should reside on the island

SALARY: 100,000- 120,000 naira per month. Salary will depend on experience

Position Summary: The Business Analyst/Executive Assistant will work with the CEO’s office, reporting to the CEO and assist in ensuring that the company's objectives are met.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct business research and analysis as relates to the CEO’s objectives including but not limited to HSE, governance, business development and corporate development
• Take excellent notes and minutes of meetings

Qualifications and skills:
