JOB TITLE: Senior Associate, Finance
REPORTS TO: Vice President/ Senior President
BUSINESS UNIT: Finance( Corporate Services)
LOCATION: Lagos
LEVEL: Full Time
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: A bachelors degree in finance, Accounting or a related field from a reputable university
PREFERRED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 6-8 years of post- graduation experience
SALARY:N8,000,000- N10,000,000 Per Annum
PREFERABLE: Female(For gender balancing) Preferable someone that as worked in one of the Big 4 industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that assigned programs and projects are managed in a financially responsible manner and that significant discrepancies are promptly reported to the Finance Manager for resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with the applicable procedures and that all supporting documentation is in place and checked prior to processing payment.
  • Carry out month-end closing activities including reviewing the accuracy and classification of general ledger entries, completing balance sheet reconciliations (including cash/ bank and advances) and calculating the expenditure allocations to projects, where applicable.
  • Assist in preparation of periodic financial reports, including management account and annual financial statements, in line with the set guidelines and formats.
  • Support the work plan and budget formulation process by providing cost input and other pertinent data including any commitments and, on a day-to-day basis
  • Generate budget variance reports for management including comments to justify any significant variances between budgeted and actual expenditure.
  • Prepare the bank reconciliation on a monthly basis and submit reconciliations for final review and approval by the Finance Manager.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and inventory records in line with related policies and procedures.
  • Provide auditors and other reviewers with relevant input/ information and any other required assistance to ensure that the reviews run smoothly.
  • Implement audit recommendations and provide regular progress updates to the Finance Manager.
  • Review monthly statutory deduction schedule (PAYE, withholding tax and Pension deductions) to ensure accuracy and timely remittances to the relevant authority.
  • Supervise and provide mentoring to direct reports.
  • Be a key point of contact for other internal units and for external contacts e.g. banks, tax consultants etc., on financial and accounting matters
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager that can reasonably be expected of a senior finance officer, but not necessarily specified above.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  •  A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field from a reputable university
  •  Minimum of six (6) years post NYSC working experience with at least 2 years reporting to Senior Management 
  • ICAN or ACCA certification
  • Vast knowledge of Nigerian Financial Regulation and Tax Laws, with specific experience in dealing directly with FIRS and LIRS.
  • Preferable someone that as worked in one of the Big 4 industry.

THE FOLLOWING WILL BE ADDED ADVANTAGES:
  • International exposure through education, travel and/or work experience
  • A Master’s degree or an MBA from a reputable university
  • KPI’s: TBD
  • Preferable someone that as worked in one of the Big 4 industry.

SALARY: N8,000,000 –N10,000,000 Per Annum
