Best Innovation/Invention Exhibition and Award- Nigerians Apply Now

The exhibition is designed to showcase the capacity of the Nigerian educational and research institutions, private innovators and industries to respond to national developmental needs, especially within the context of the Transformation Agenda of the present Administration. The exhibition will be physically assessed at each of the venue. The venues for the Exhibition are at Kaduna , Aba and Lagos.

The Federal Ministry of Science and Technology therefore calls for entries for the award of Best Innovator/Inventor from individual and corporate bodies. A cash prize of N1,000,000.00 and a plaque will be awarded to the best national innovation/invention to be assessed by a team comprising accomplished entrepreneurs and academics. The final award will be made by the Honourable Minister of Science and Technology at the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on Wednesday, 30^th January, 2013.

Criteria for Selection of the Best Innovator/Inventor Award Winner

Entries will be assessed for:

1. Ingenuity and applicability to real industry problems prevalent in the Nigerian environment;
2. Ease of mass production and commercialisation potential;
3. Novelty and originality of the research/innovation output.

Judging Creteria for the Best Innovator/Inventor Award Winners
The successful entries at the exhibition will be judged by the following criteria:
1. Originality of the invention/innovation
2. Impact of the innovation/invention
3. Practicability, Implementation and sustainability of its application
4. Measurability of the benefits
5. The development process of Invention/Innovation
6. Applicability
7. Adoption and Replication
8. Certification/Patenting of the Innovation/Invention
9. Propensity for commercialization

Completion and Submission of Entry
The exhibitions are scheduled to hold at 9 am daily as follows:

1. Kaduna: Tuesday, 22^nd – Wednesday 23^rd January, 2013, at the Conference Hall, Command Guest House, Kaduna
2. Aba: Friday, 25^th – Saturday, 26^th January, 2013, at the Hotel De La Paix, Aba, Abia State
3. Lagos: Tuesday, 29^th – Wednesday, 30^th January, 2013, Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State

Kaduna: 12 Noon on Monday, 21st January, 2013
Aba : 12 Noon on Wednesday, 23rd January, 2013
Lagos: 12 noon on Friday, 25th January, 2013
