MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: Prior experience working in a Commercial Bank, Oil & Gas,
Telecommunications and/or FMCG company, in a role that required the individual to meet
stakeholders and raise funds for corporate sponsorships, non-for-profit causes and/or specific
non-for-profit projects.
PREFERED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: Over 7-years of experience across the industries
highlighted above with a focus on fundraising, or a related field.
SALARY: N200,000-N300,000 Gross Monthly salary
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a talented and experienced fundraising specialist to join our
sport organization, which is a non-profit that will focus on nurturing, developing and promoting
Nigerian (amateur and non-professional) athletes on their journey to becoming professionals
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing fundraising campaigns
and activities to achieve our fundraising goals and support our mission.
ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet the organizations financial goals
and objectives
● Report to the Board of Trustees i.e provide regular up-to-date fundraising activities and
updates
● Undertake all aspects of business development and corporate fundraising, including
identification of funding opportunities, bid & proposal planning, grant application, tender
submissions, and organization of fundraising events.
● Network and work in partnership with internal external partners or stakeholders to drive
awareness, identify donors, and engage with the wider community in raising funding and
grants for our athletes and organization.
● Maintain existing and develop new partnerships with statutory, voluntary, and private and
public sector organizations that supports and advance our fundraising objectives and
efforts.
● Conduct frequent research on fundraising opportunities and present them to the board to
get its buy-in of viable opportunities to roll out.
● Collaborate with other departments to develop marketing and communications materials
to support fundraising efforts
● Organize and attend relevant non-profit events that supports our fundraising efforts and
network with relevant stakeholders.
● Carry out any other relevant duties within the overall scope of the role
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
● Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
● 7-year experience across the industries such as commercial bank, oil & gas, telecommunications and/or FMCG company, in a role that required the individual to meet stakeholders and raise funds for corporate sponsorships, non-for-profit causes and/or specific non-for-profit projects.
● Experience in developing and executing successful fundraising campaigns and activities.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with donors, sponsors, stakeholders and partners effectively.
● Strong knowledge of fundraising techniques, donor cultivation, grant writing and sponsorships.
● Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
● Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple
projects and priorities simultaneously.
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
● Knowledge of fundraising best practices, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
● Ability to work independently and in a team environment
● Passion for sports (squash to be precise) and commitment to the organization’s mission
SALARY: N200,000-N300,000 Gross Monthly salary
