Youth Organization Capacity Building School (Third Edition)


Do you run a youth organization in Nigeria and desire to become more professional, impactful, secure more grants and be sustainable in your work? If yes, then the third edition of Youth Organization Capacity Building School is here for you between Thursday 17th and Friday 18th January 2013, in Abuja, Nigeria.

The Training shall offer practical sessions on:

·         Characteristics of High Performing and Sustainable Youth Development Organizations

·         How to Write Winning Proposals.

·         Developing Proper Financial and Accounting Procedures.

·         Understanding Social Entrepreneurship.

·         How to Mainstream Gender in Development Interventions.

·         Cultivating Rewarding Relationship with Donors and Partners, among other sessions.

 
Every participant shall get a free CD with the conference sessions, organization development toolkits and a list of over 50 local and international funding organizations.

Institutional Support:Two (2) Youth Development Organizations participating in the training shall win Youngstars Institutional Building Grant to support a key organizational challenge they are currently facing.

Facilitators: Facilitators shall be drawn from UNDP DGD, US Embassy Abuja, National Democratic Institute and other development partners.

 
Eligibility: Young persons in Nigeria between the ages of 18 and 35, running/working in a youth organization or interested in starting a youth organization.

Registration: All participants are expected to arrive at the event venue on or before 8:30am on Thursday 17th January, 2013 for registration. A REGISTRATION FEE of N5,000 is payable at the venue.


Registration Discount: Members of the Youngstars Coalition for Youth Capacity shall pay only N3,000.


Transportation: Please note that participants will be solely responsible for their transportation in and out of Abuja.

Accommodation and Meals: Limited accommodation scholarship shall be available for participants who demonstrate the need for it. Meals shall be provided for all participants.

Applications for 2013/14 Chevening Scholarships are now open. For full information about eligibility and selection criteria please read our guidance for applicants.

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The programme makes awards to outstanding scholars with leadership potential from around the world to study postgraduate courses at universities in the UK.

The Chevening programme began in 1983 and has developed into a prestigious international scheme. Chevening Scholars come from over 116 countries worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU), and this year the Scholarships will support approximately 700 individuals. There are over 41,000 Chevening alumni around the world who together comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.

The programme provides full or part funding for full-time courses at postgraduate level, normally a one-year Master’s degree, in any subject and at any UK university.
